Had an awesome experience the 1st time here, today. Had the Gyoza (pan fried pork dumpling) appetizer. Had the Yakiniku (shaved beef) and Teriyaki chicken, with rice, lunch box. It came with a small soup and salad. Amazing, refreshing, flavors abound! More than enough food for anyone.... unless your me, lol! For $20, it's the best experience I've had in a while..... Will definitely be back and I do recommend!

Went in for a late and quick lunch. They close at 2pm from Tues- Fri and we were there at 1:30pm. We weren't sure if they were still serving since wasn't anyone at the entrance but we walked in anyway to the main dining area to inquire and they did. Definitely a legit Japanese restaurant owned by Japanese. We had a simple meal but this will be our go-to restaurant when we need to fulfill out Japanese food cravings. Lunch menu options were too simple, but I was told we can request for the full menu and order dinner items for lunch as well- definitely something I will do in my future visits!
Tempura for the lunch bento was fresh, light and crispy, the meat in the shumai was soft and yummy. We were given a light salad at the start, love the ginger salad dressing that they make in-house! Broth for the soba was light but very flavorful. The noodle bowl can do with a bit more ingredients- was given 2 tempura shrimp, 2 pieces of fishcake and a small portion of spinach. -

So good! We went for dinner tonight after realizing the location was now open. We were sat at the sushi bar and it was really great. Very cool seeing the chefs at work. And the sushi was aaaaamazing. The ramen was as good as any we have had in Nashville (very similar to Two Ten Jack's pork ramen in flavor). The teriyaki salmon entree was also very good. Great amount of flavor and the rice was great. Can't wait to go back and try something

Just now ordered the *sushi deluxe* on ubereats.
9 pieces of Nigri and one roll.
I chose the California roll as my meal as the option.
when I opened my to go order it look very good. Looked like I could put it in my mouth whole. wrong!
I hope they do know that some people DO NOT LIKE WASABI because it is too spicy and over powering..
They actually put a dot of wasabi in the middle of the rice and then place the raw fish. And I didn't want it like that but sadly there WAS NOT AN OPTION on the screen and there was not a description of what I was going to get! and a little wasabi goes a long way. Not everyone likes wasabi. so why put wasabi in the middle of the rice? To keep the the raw fish in place? excuse me what?
My family owns an ICHIBAN in Port Charlotte Florida.
I thought this was going to the same as theirs but nope.
The California roll was alright, it's mini size tho.
I enjoyed my meal. well half, Im just really dissatisfied and disappointed in the Nigri.
I will gladly stick to oishiya sushi restaurant on cason lane. Good day. -

Having enjoyed Japanese food for the past 40+ years including in Los Angeles where I am from, I can say that Ichiban is as good as any I have eaten. The seafood is extremely fresh and the chef creates beautiful original as well as traditional dishes. I highly recommend it!
